The Usability Of 3D Scan Data In Manufacturing

3D scanners are powerful measurement tools, used to capture surface dimensions of complex geometric objects quickly and accurately. While impressive, the 3D scanning portion of measurement challenges is only part of the solution. 3D scanners are only useful if we have the ability to work with the data, and specialized software is available for different post-measurement applications. In this presentation we will discuss the applications of 3D scan data for inspection & quality control, wear & corrosion analysis, reverse engineering, and scan-based design projects in manufacturing.
